Carved Ipu

This ipu (vessel) is perfect for holding jewellery, but really, anything you consider taonga or precious. It has been formed over a beach stone which gives it a soft form. The carving covers the entire exterior surface.

The Ipu Kākano range highlights the power of kākano (seeds) and their ability to hold generations of knowledge and learning. The exterior whakairo pattern references the kiri (bark) of rākau (tree) symbolising growth to come.
